Art Deco arrived during a time of great economic conflict. During the Depression, America had barons like the fictional Daddy Warbucks that were living the high life while most of the working class were waiting in bread lines for food. Art Deco architecture and interior design celebrated chrome finish, geometric shapes, Egyptian motifs, and modern inventions like the radio. Silent film stars faded and talking pictures became all the rage. Train stations were decked out like the pyramids of Egypt. Buildings were designed to look like powerful yachts. It was was a strange time.

The Aris collection from Murray Feiss is a new line that emulates candles in a most effective way.
